Define beneficiary demand, the community operator, procurement records and a maintainable water supply before commissioning works.
Make the brief specific to the project
For a site in Nakuru County, supply the actual location and access route rather than only the nearest town. A Naivasha farm, Nakuru rental property and Molo institution can have very different demand and distribution needs. Start with a site-specific brief and a laboratory-led water-use decision.
Use a site-specific hydrogeological assessment and water analysis rather than a single depth or water-quality assumption for the whole county. Align the source design with household, agricultural or institutional demand and the actual delivery head.
The technical scope
Build a groundwater source around survey evidence, intended demand and a documented construction plan. Our drilling service covers the route from mobilisation and construction to development and a tested handover.
Ask the contractor to identify what is measured during drilling, how water strikes and formations are recorded, and who signs off the final borehole construction. The completion design should follow the actual ground conditions.
- Survey report and the current project approvals
- A site access plan including gate width, turning space and working area
- Intended domestic, irrigation, institutional or industrial demand
- Agreement on target depth, scope exclusions and change approval
Project governance and change control
Identify the owner, scope approver, access contact and eventual operator. Use one version of the quotation and agree the evidence needed at assessment, construction, equipment selection and commissioning. Explain how a changed site finding will be approved before further cost is incurred.
What should be in the quotation?
Separate survey, approvals, mobilisation, drilling, casing, development, test pumping, laboratory testing, pump equipment, power, storage and distribution. Record how extra depth or changes will be approved.
A per-metre price is only one part of the project. Drilling depth, formation stability and water quality vary by site. Neither an online county guide nor a nearby borehole can guarantee the result on your land.
Acceptance and aftercare
Request the borehole location, construction log, casing and screen schedule, pumping-test interpretation, water analysis and operating recommendations.
Agree who will monitor the system, how maintenance is funded and where the records will be stored. Include operator training and a clear contact for abnormal readings, low flow or equipment faults.
